Mediation Fees

Fees are payable in advance of any MIAM or Mediation Session.

All supporting paperwork will be available on payment.

All Fees are payable per person.

Most cases require 1-4 mediation sessions depending on how complex the case and how much progress is made in the sessions.

Ministry of Justice Voucher
(child arrangements only)

The Ministry of Justice has developed a mediation voucher scheme, whereby a contribution of up to £500 per case/family to the mediation costs of child arrangements is offered.

The voucher is a one-time financial contribution towards the costs of mediation. Mediation sessions cost £200 per session, per person. The voucher will cover you both for your first session and reduce your second session to £150 per person for the session. The third and any subsequent sessions will be charged at the full rate.

The voucher does not cover the MIAM, which will need to be paid for beforehand.

Your mediator will apply for the voucher on your behalf, if you are eligible.

You may need to contribute to the overall cost of your sessions if you choose to continue with mediation, for example if you have not resolved your child arrangements or would like to discuss financial matters.

Legal Aid & Low Income

Legal aid is available if you are financially eligible.

Aequitas Mediation does not offer legal aid. We can signpost you to other mediation services, if you qualify.
